Friday meeting to review sleep center suggestions
Proposed sites for a sleep center will be reviewed by the Ad Hoc Committee for Homelessness at 3:30 p.m., today in the City Hill Council Chambers. The council called for proposals from the public after objections were raised to a South Ruby Street location due to its proximity to a childcare center. The meeting is open to the public but does have to allow for public comment. The committee’s recommendation goes to the City Council where there will be opportunities for public comment.
Vacancy of Kittitas City Council
Applications will be accepted for vacancy on the Kittitas City Council through Monday.
Orchesis Spring Concert continues
The Central Washington University Orchesis Dance Company continues its Spring Concert performance this weekend. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. tonight and 2 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday. The show includes tap, hip-hop, musical theater jazz and contemporary dance. Tickets are $20 for general admission.
Irene Rinehart cleanup on Saturday
There will be a cleanup day at Irene Rinehart Riverfront Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday. The cleanup is a cooperative effort between the city and CWU’s Student Leadership Involvement and Community Engagement program. In addition to the trash pickup, trees will be planted along a section of the Riverfront trail.
Downtown cleanup on Saturday
The Ellensburg Downtown Association semi-annual Downtown Cleanup will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday. Volunteers can gather at the EDA office on Third Avenue. EDA will provide the cleanup tools. People can register on the EDA’s website.
PUNCH Stage features performance
Phil and the Unfulfilled with Look Out Akron perform on the Punch Projects Stage at 2 p.m., Saturday. This month’s Punch art show is A Whistling Kettle, An Exhibition of Haiku Comics.
Foundation at KVH fundraiser is Saturday
Bloom and Bubbles, a dinner and silent auction fundraiser for the Foundation at KVH, 5:30 p.m., Saturday at the Hotel Windrow. The event raises money to purchase medical equipment for KVH.
Concert at Gallery One
Guitarist Eli Schille-Hudson and flutist Mehrdad Gholami are featured in Gallery One’s Guitar in the Gallery concert series at 2 p.m., Sunday.
Fundraiser for Boys and Girls Club
A fundraising dinner to support the creation of a Boys and Girls Club in the Cle Elum-Roslyn will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday in the Old Masonic Dance Hall in the Roslyn Post Office Building. For more information, email ann@bngclub.org.

EHS athlete honored
Ellensburg High School track and field athlete Charles Bennett was named a WIAA Athlete of the Week for the past week. Bennett was one of 12 athletes recognized statewide.
LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is a tuna fish sandwich, roasted potatoes and applesauce. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
