SUMMER IS HERE
This is the last day of the school year for the Ellensburg and Easton school districts, meaning all public schools in Kittitas County are out for summer break.
Summer lunch program starts Monday
The FISH Picnic in the Park free summer lunch program for children 18 and under, starts on Monday. There are five lunch locations in Ellensburg, one in Cle Elum, and one in Kittitas where lunch will be served Monday through Friday. There is a weekly pickup site on Thursdays in Easton. More information is available of the FISH Food Bank Facebook page.
Construction has finished on the Ida Nason Aronica Community Garden.
The garden, named and created to honor Ida Nason Aronica, an influential Kittitas Band tribal elder who passed away in 1952, found its completion through a combination of efforts.
A Local School Plan for Improvement grant of $35,000; Ellensburg High School students creating planter boxes; the Conservation District helping to map out locations; and many more helping along the way.
