City Council addresses housing
The City Council took action on two housing projects at its Monday meeting. The Council approved a revision to the Katie Meadows project expanding it by 14 lots and allowing for an improved road system. The city approved the West Bender Road project in 2022. Since then, the land owner, Crytal Enterprise, has purchased adjacent land to increase the number of lots from 40 to 54.
The council also approved a letter of intent with Inversion Design Build for an affordable housing project on First Avenue and Pine Street. The council selected Inversion’s proposal to build 12 three-unit stacks, with one owner-occupied and two rentals, on the property in June. The letter of intent allows the project to move forward to secure additional funding.

The county purchased the property several years ago for a Kittitas Valley Event Center expansion project.
