EHS Winter Musical opens this week
The Ellensburg High School Winter Musical, “Anything Goes” opens at 7 p.m., Thursday at the Morgan Performing Arts Center. The schedule includes 7 p.m. showings on Feb. 21, 22 and 28 and March 1, and 2 p.m. shows on Feb. 22 and March 1. Tickets are $15 for general admission.
Virtual Town Hall today
The 13th District Legislators will hold a Virtual Town Hall via Zoom at 6 p.m., today. Sen. Judy Warnick, and Reps. Tom Dent and Alex Ybarra will discuss the ongoing Legislative session. Registration information is on the League of Women Voters of Kittitas County Facebook page.
Native American print exhibit opens Thursday
An exhibit of Native American prints from the Crow’s Shadow Institute of Arts Collection opens on Thursday at CWU. The exhibit, titled “Past, Now and Future,” starts with an art history talk by Michael Holloman at 4 p.m. in the SURC Theatre, followed by a reception at 5 p.m. in the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery.
CWU Board of Trustees meets on Thursday and Friday
The Central Washington University Board of Trustees meets on Thursday and Friday at the Wellington Event Center. Central’s response to Executive Orders is set for 2:30 p.m. on Thursday’s agenda.
“Dracula” opens on Friday
The CWU Theatre Department production of “Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really,” premieres at 7:30 p.m., Friday in the Milo Smith Theatre. There also are performances on Saturday, Sunday, Feb. 28, March 1 and 2. Tickets are available on the CWU Theatre website.
Winter Faculty Showcase is on Friday
The CWU Music Department's Winter Faculty Showcase is at 7 p.m., Friday, in the McIntyre Music Building. Seven faculty performers will be featured. Admission is free but donations are accepted for the Music Department.
The Enterprise Challenge deadline extended
The deadline for the Enterprise Challenge has been extended to Friday. Enterprise Challenge is a business plan competition open to new and emerging companies in Kittitas County. The Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event and entry information is on the chamber’s website.
Nominations accepted for Diversity Awards
CWU is accepting nominations for its 11th annual Diversity Awards. The four award categories are students, faculty, staff and community members, and the Bobby Cummings Lifetime Achievement Award. Nominations are accepted until March 7 and the online recommendation form is on Central’s website.

Central hoops host final regular season home stand
CWU basketball hosts its final regular season home stand on Thursday and Saturday. The Wildcat men and women welcome Western Oregon on Thursday with the women’s game at 5:15 p.m. and the men’s at 7:30 p.m. St. Martin’s visits on Saturday with the women’s game at 4 p.m. and the men at 6:15 p.m. The women are in third place in the GNAC with an 11-4 league record and the men sit in first place with an 11-3 league record.
New CWU record set for 800 meters
CWU track athlete Johan Correa earned the GNAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week Award after setting a new CWU record for the 800 meters at the Husky Classic in Seattle this past weekend. Correa ran the race in 1:48.60.

The FISH Open Table Lunch is chicken, vegetable and sausage gumbo, Jasmine rice and oranges. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
